LOMBOK

Lombok, an island in West Nusa Tenggara, a peaceful island with swaying palm trees, deserted beaches, lush green jungles, towering mountains and friendly people. It has a great scenery that can relaxed your soul. It will enjoy yourself when you see the scenery without having feel to disturbed by the crowded. There are a lot of beautiful places that you can visit, such as Gili Air beach, Senggigi beach, Gili Trawangan, Mount. Rinjani and many more. It has an endemic fauna, Rusa Timor. When many people choose Bali for their holiday, I suggested you to visit Lombok first. Lombok is a better place to visit rather than Bali because it has more variety of fauna, it is more strategic for diving and it is not as crowded as Bali.

Lombok is better than Bali because it has more variety of fauna. Lombok, which is included in the Wallacea region, has 197 species of animal which is a mix of animals from Asia and Australia, which consists of 32 species of mammals, 128 species of birds and 37 species of reptiles. Wallace found that 97% of bird species on Bali island also exist in Java. But in Lombok island, which is located just east of Bali, Wallace found only about 50% of the same species with Java. This difference is quite striking, because the location of Bali and Lombok is close enough but they have a prominent difference about their fauna. At least 25 species of animals and birds, are rare and protected in Lombok.

It is more strategic for diving. Lombok has many wonderful beaches around the island which you can visit, like Gili Air, Senggigi beach and Kuta beach. The sea conditions are generally calm and have crystal clear warm water. It also has a little more tropical feeling and relaxing sensations. The Kuta beach in Lombok is different with the one in Bali, the area is also famous for its beautiful, largely deserted and white sand beaches. In southwest Lombok, is popular for its numerous and diverse scuba diving locations. You can also dive in waters that have more varieties of fish and underwater scenery than anywhere in the world, and that includes The Great Barrier Reef and Red Sea. It has an impressive array of sea creatures, soft corals and plant life to be seen, such as green and hawksbill turtles, manta rays, bumphead parrotfish and many more. It will give an impressive underwater adventure and experience for you. This is totally recommended for those who like diving, even for the beginner.

It is not as crowded as Bali. In 2010, Bali was visited by tourist at least 184.200 people and this amount will continue growing day by day. Where Lombok just visited at least by 18.666 people. This amount of visitors is so significant, and it shows you that if you visit Lombok, you can freely enjoy the scenery without having to meet the crowds that exceed the limits, just like in Bali. Lombok also keeps a culture of natural life style and outstanding natural sceneries alive. A relaxed lifestyle, friendly and pleasant people, a peaceful atmosphere, variety of traditional activities, together with the white sand beaches without dangerous waves for children and the weaker swimmers. It gives a gentle but seriously perfect and an interesting selection for holiday.

In conclusion, having variety of fauna, being more strategic for diving and not as crowded as Bali are the three reasons why Lombok is better to visit than Bali. Those three things are the main reasons why you have to visit Lombok. It has a lot of natural beauty which is still hidden, you have to feel the joyfulness, see the beautifulness, and together we have to start introducing Lombok into the worldwide tourist. The natural wealth of Lombok must be preserved. Its beauty is the key of Lombok’s enchantment. Lombok is a perfect selection for relaxing after a long-boring daily routine.
